The challenge
A steep sandy pathway leading to the beach required stabilisation to provide a more durable access route while helping limit erosion and movement of the surrounding sand.
What we supplied
SA Sandbags supplied sandbags that were installed in overlapping rows along the pathway. The bags were filled and positioned to create a reinforced surface across the steep sandy slope, following the natural contours of the access route. The installation was combined with timber posts and rope to provide a defined pedestrian pathway down to the beach.
The result
The completed sandbag pathway provided a practical and adaptable solution for stabilising the steep sandy access route. The sandbags help reinforce the surface and retain the surrounding sand while providing a more defined route through the dune environment.
